Starting a Voyage
Drivers begin their assigned voyages from the Voyage Preview page in the Transpomate Mobile App. The flow varies depending on whether GPS tracking is enabled for the company and the GPS configuration of the assigned vehicle:
If GPS Tracking Is Not Enabled for the Company
If GPS Tracking Is Not Enabled for the Company
Upon clicking Start Voyage, the driver is directed to enter the initial odometer reading.
The voyage then proceeds through the standard steps: pickups, drop-offs, and final odometer entry.
If GPS Tracking Is Enabled for the Company
If GPS Tracking Is Enabled for the Company
The flow depends on the GPS setup of the vehicle:
Fixed GPS Device Attached to the assigned Vehicle:
The driver is taken directly to the Ongoing Voyage page.
Odometer readings are not required, as the GPS device captures voyage data automatically.
No GPS Device Attached to the assigned Vehicle:
The driver is asked whether they will be using a portable GPS device.
If No, the app follows the standard odometer-based flow.
If Yes, the driver is prompted to scan a QR code to verify the portable device.
If the device is valid, the driver proceeds directly to the Ongoing Voyage page, skipping odometer entry.
If the device is invalid or scanning fails, the driver remains on the scan page until a valid device is scanned.
📌 Important Notes:
The Start Voyage flow adapts based on company and vehicle GPS configurations.
Portable GPS devices must be registered in the system to be accepted.
Odometer entry is only required when no GPS device is used.
Drivers must manually refresh the Pending Voyage page to see newly assigned voyages.
